Solo Exhibition “Rare” in Athens Municipal Art Gallery, Greece

As part of the 1st Rare Diseases Festival organized by the “95” Rare Alliance Greece, under the auspices of the Municipality of Athens and with the support of OPANDA, photographer Ypatia Kornarou presents the solo photography exhibition and photo book entitled “Rare,” on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the Athens Municipality Art Gallery (Building A), Metaxourgeio. The presentation of the photobook “Rare” will take place on the opening day at 8:00 p.m.

Speakers at the Presentation of the Book “Rare”:

Lawyer – Administrator and Co-founder of the online photography magazine photologio.gr, Theodoros Stigas
Doctor of Medicine – Psychologist and Psychotherapist, Dr. Vassilios Kiosses
President of the “95” Rare Alliance Greece, Mary Adamopoulou

Photographer Ypatia Kornarou notes:

“The photographic exhibition “Rare” is an emotional landscape of rare disease. The human body as a changing reality, the warmth of the family environment, and the re-articulation of everyday lived experience come together as conduits for a visual diffusion of the nature of rarity. From the beginning, the journey is embedded with a universal narrative about the psychogram of diversity. Through a series of visual narratives, it raises questions, creates stimuli, and encourages the viewer to reexamine the ways of seeing that shape their perception of the world.”
